I had been scheduled for wrist surgery to heal my DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis. My mom and brother planned to come out and help take care of things around here while I recovered. Luckily, my wrists seemed to be healing enough on their own that I ended up being cleared to forgo the surgery. Yay! Mom and Christopher still came to visit though. Grandma's don't like disappointments that involve not seeing a grandbaby. (c-: It was fun to have them here and it is always nice to have a little extra help as we settle into a new semester.
This was the first time Christopher got to really interact with Alex. He wasn't quite sure what to do when Alex got bored and anxious, but he did a great job being an uncle. He discovered that by surrounding Alex with colors, toys, textures, and sounds he stayed happy.

Look what a good uncle he is

My mom had fun being Oma again--holding and playing with fun little Alex

One of Alex's Christmas presents was a Fisher Price glow worm from Omama. He loves this little glow worm.

I took Mom and Christopher up Provo Canyon to see frozen Bridal Veil Falls. It was fun to even get to see ice climbers on the falls.

As an early birthday present from Oma & Grandpa Gomm, and Omama & Opa, we found a great carrying backpack for Alex. He LOVES it! It has a little sun sheild and a wind/rain gaurd that keeps him nice and toasty. We also found Alex a great beany/glove set that will last him through next winter (buying a size up is an awesome idea!)

He loves his backpack so much that by the time we got back to the car he was sound asleep.

Last semester I took a landscape design class and this table was a lifesaver! My dad had a spare on hand so he sent it out with my mom when she came last September. She was taking it back with her but not without a picture first. It had been such a major part of our home and life last semester we had to capture the memory. :-)

Chistopher and I enjoyed silly brother-sister things like facebook IMing each other while sitting right next to the each other. I occasionally would lean over an type something to a girl he was chatting with. Hee! Hee!

Quin invited Christopher to come with him to a BYU basketball game. Steve managed to get the night off work so the three of them had a great time together. It was a great game!
Mom treated me to In-n-Out burger. Yum! We met up with Aunt Judy and cousin Christine and then went to visit Grandma Gomm. Alex loved all the new places and faces.

Grandma shared all the pictures of the family from the last year.

Alex had fun riding the rocking lounger with grandma. What a roller coaster!

That is until he was ready for a nap. :-)
One of the things we enjoy the most is listening to Alex's laugh. We know it won't have that laugh forever so we cherish ever giggle.

He's gotten really good at eating in his high chair. He loves to eat!

Towards the end of their visit, Alex started getting really irritated. Teething....who knows. Usually we can sing this song to him and it makes him smile. As you will see, that song was probably the last thing he wanted to hear. :-)
