Alex's appointment with the spinal specialist
Hey everyone! We have officially moved into our new place! We are really excited to be here and will post pictures just as soon as we get everything unpacked and in place. I thought I'd give a quick update on Alex. We went to the spine specialist yesterday...this was the much anticipated and dreaded appointment. Fortunately, like all of the other appointments Alex had been to lately, we received more good news. They took new x-rays and after examining the x-rays the doctor said we can hold off having the MRI done until after a year if he needs it at all. His case is still considred really mild with only a slight curve of the spine. The doctor does think that there may be a connection between Alex's dislike for sensory stimulation on his arms and his hemivertebrae but we will wait and see how he is affected after he turns a year. Dr. Smith said that if Alex keeps growing with this current pattern he will be a normal boy with very little, if any, deformity (i don't like that word). He can play contact sports, backpack, and pretty much do anything he'd like. Interestingly, this x-ray only revealed 1 set of fused ribs as apposed to the 2 sets they thought he had. Overall it was a great Dr. visit and we are so glad that Alex seems to be growing fine and hopefully all will continue to go well. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Great news...happy news! except for the part where you moved: does that mean you're not in the ward anymore?
The miracles continue! Love you all! Mom/Oma
